Jaipur records 46 fresh Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, Rajasthan’s active caseload rises to 318

Rajasthan’s Jaipur recorded a surge in cases of coronavirus, with the city registering 46 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, as per the report submitted by the health department on Sunday.

The state registered 62 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday. The total number of active Covid cases in Rajasthan climbed to 318.

As many as 15 people recovered from the infection during the same time period.

So far, 8,963 people have succumbed to the infection in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan reported 21 new cases of Omicron variant of Coronavirus on Saturday. Of these 11 cases are from Jaipur, six from Ajmer, three from Udaipur, and one from Maharashtra.

Out of the 21 new cases of Omicron variant, five patients had a history of foreign travel, three patients came in contact with those who returned from abroad, whereas three others were found through contact tracing of those who had tested positive for the Omicron variant.

With fresh cases reported on Saturday, total number of Omicron cases jumped to 43. These include 28 from Jaipur, seven from Ajmer, four from Sikar, three from Udaipur, and one from Maharashtra.
