Great Western Hospital reintroduces visiting restrictions to reduce transmission of Covid-19

Patients receiving end of life care can have more than one visitor during the day, and for any length of time.

A GWH spokesperson said: “Visitors must contact the ward beforehand to book a visit in advance.

“We still support video and phone calls to our patients and would still advise you to access this option if possible.

“Please do not visit if you or anyone close to you any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been asked to self-isolate.

“Contact our ward staff to book the nominated visitor in for an allotted time slot visit.”

Extended visiting is possible in certain circumstances, for example, for a carer if the patient requires them for ongoing personal, physical, or emotional care and support while in hospital – or those with learning disabilities or dementia.
