Covid-19: Locations of interest in the Omicron and Delta outbreaks – January 28

A café in Middlemore Hospital, the SkyCity Casino Auckland and two flights between Nelson and Auckland have been listed as the latest locations of interest by the Ministry of Health.

Elixir Espresso in Middlemore Hospital was listed four times as having been visited by a Covid-19 case on Tuesday, then twice on Wednesday and again on Thursday.

The SkyCity Casino was also listed after a Covid-19 case spent time there on Monday and Tuesday.

Those at the café or casino were advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 10 days after exposure and get tested if symptoms developed.

Flight NZ5084 from Nelson to Auckland on Tuesday, January 18, between 5.50 pm and 7:30 pm and Flight NZ8087 from Auckland to Nelson on Sunday, January 23, between 8.10 pm and 9.30 pm were both listed as “close contact” locations. Anyone on those flights should self-isolate, test immediately and again on day five.

The Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Eden Terrace Auckland has been named as a close contact of a suspected Omicron case on Friday morning.

The new traffic light framework started on December 3, allowing more freedoms for fully vaccinated people. The Ministry of Health would not publish all low-risk locations of interest in red areas under the new Covid protection framework.

This list can be viewed in two ways: Date of visit (locations added today have the word NEW beside them) or, if you switch the toggle to Date included, newly added locations appear at the top of the list.

If you were at a location of interest at one of the specified times, you may need to self-isolate and be tested. Follow the instructions for that location on the Ministry of Health website and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice on testing.
